Drawing Tutorial

Step 1:

I like to start any of new drawing in the sketchbook using pen and paper.

Here I try to figure out basics of pose, anatomy and expression.

Step 2:

Next I am drafting the sketch on the screen, fixing any errors with pose and expression. Also adding any extra details.

Step 3:

Then is the long process of redrawing all the lines you wish to keep. making the drawing presentable. 

Step 4:

I have a pallet for each of my characters to make sure that the base colors are always the same. It helps me to go through the coloring stage faster as well.

Step 5:

Once you are done with the base colors for your character, I would recommend to figure out base colors for your background, even more importantly - where is you light source?

Step 6:

Then you can start  adding shadows to you character, or if you are in the mood for detained backgrounds - work on your background!
